Two Topics in One Evening!

Special Meeting for Grandparents and Extended Family
Down Syndrome? How did that happen? What does it mean? How can I help?

Thursday, Thursday, May 28, 2009

7:00 p.m.

Schaumburg Township Board Room
One Illinois Boulevard, Hoffman Estates, IL

For Extended Family Members: When your child with Down syndrome was born, you had so many questions. And so did your own parents, brothers, sisters and extended family? Though you’ve done your best to explain, there may be questions they are afraid to ask or don’t know how to start the conversation.

Please extend an invitation to members of your extended family, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, your brothers and sisters to join us for what promises to be an educational, heartwarming (bring pictures) evening.

For Parents:  Linda Picchi, Program Coordinator for the National Association for Down Syndrome (NADS) will share the new NADS Program for Medical Professionals that is used throughout the Chicago metropolitan area.  To assist NADS in targeting hospitals that would benefit from the important information shared in this Medical In-service, Linda is seeking input from families of young children on their hospital experiences.

Registration is not necessary to attend the meeting.

Free on-site child care is available for parents attending the meeting, but space is limited.  YOU MUST RSVP FOR CHILD CARE.
